Life’s challenges and initiations are many and varied:  marriage, divorce, illness, trauma, new jobs, childbirth, grief, addictions and aging.  New lives are constantly arising from crises, many times seemly without our planning or control.  At these times it is helpful to have professional support while walking a new path.  I have assisted many people in meeting life’s challenges and believe that removing layers of false beliefs and self-defeating behaviors can bring us to a more joyful and deeply lived life. I hold the perspective that our greatest fears and tragedies can be transformed into sources of strength and heart.

Old ways of thinking and feeling are held in our bodies and can become obstacles to living our lives with purpose and pleasure.  Becoming more aware of how we do this is important. At the same time knowing and accepting all experiences as valuable, even the ones that are initially frightening or unwanted is equally important.

As a therapist I believe that:

Each person brings unique issues and needs to therapy, so sessions will be varied.  Depending on client needs, I might listen, talk, move or imagine and invite clients to do the same.  I want always to be open to spontaneity and yet bring us back to the moment and the relationship.
